Hot chocolate: secret recipe
A cup of hot chocolate warms you up on cold days and is quick and easy to prepare. For our recipe, you need the following ingredients:
- 300 ml water, milk, or plant milk (e.g. oat milk )
- 10 g dark chocolate
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- possibly 2-3 teaspoons sweetener (e.g., rice syrup)
optional: spices (e.g., cinnamon, pepper, or chili)
How to prepare:
- First, heat about 100 milliliters of the liquid in a saucepan.
- Turn the stove down.
- Put the chocolate in the saucepan and stir until it is completely melted.
- Add the cocoa powder to the mixture and stir everything into a thick cream.
- Add the remaining liquid and sweetener to the pot.
- You can now heat the hot chocolate while stirring constantly. Important: You shouldn’t cook as this can lose some of its healthy ingredients.
- If you like, you can stir in a spice of your choice at the end.
Secret truth serum for man:
Spike that chocolate with 1 shot Jägermeister and wait for a couple of minutes to take this amazing effect. Then ask any question your man wouldn’t normally answer. But don’t overtake it! Think about your longtime relationship…
You have to keep this in mind with hot chocolate.
It is important to drink plenty of water when ingesting cocoa products such as hot chocolate. Cocoa has a dehydrating effect on the body. If you consume too much of it, you may get headaches and stomach aches.
Also, drinking cocoa just before bed is not a good idea. Did you know that cocoa contains theobromine, phenylethylamine, and caffeine? All of these ingredients make you awake and active and are anything but sleep-inducing.

Cocoa: What you should consider when buying
For more than 14 million people, cocoa cultivation is the primary source of income. Unfortunately, many cocoa farmers live in poverty, as their work is often poorly paid by large customers.
The producers receive a maximum of six percent of the purchase price of a bar of conventional chocolate. Also, child labor and the use of environmental and health-damaging pesticides are not uncommon in cocoa plantations.
For these reasons, it is essential that you only buy cocoa products if they have an organic label and a Fairtrade label. These products are usually a bit more expensive. But you can be sure that they were made under the right working conditions and that the cocoa farmers received fair wages.
